The filming is slowly ramping up the pace, which means things are looking bright for television lovers. A lot of shows with their new iteration, as well as new adaptations of old favourites are coming in 2021.

Fantasy fans will be hyped to hear that a multi-season series of Lord of the Rings is currently being filmed by Amazon Prime, which will explore new plots preceding Tolkien’s The Ring Fellowship. JD Payne and Patrick McKay are the showrunners, and Robert Amarayo, Joseph Mawle and Lenny Henry are the stars currently on set in New Zealand. The show is still on track to arrive in late 2021, thanks to the Kiwis’ world-beating coronavirus response.

The BBC turns its hand to a glamorous real-crime drama that tells the story of Charles Sobhraj. Charles, a French serial killer (also known as The Serpent) who in the 1970s killed backpackers in South-East Asia. With Jenna Coleman (Victoria) going darker than we’ve seen her before, as Marie-Andree Leclerc, Sobhraj’s glamorous French-Canadian accomplice, A Prophet’s Tahar Rahim takes the creepy lead role.

Cobra Kai (Season 3)

When its first two seasons were added to Netflix in 2020, Cobra Kai became something of a smash, with the Karate Kid spin-off rapidly winning over millions of fans. 

After a big battle between the town’s dojos, the second season ended on a huge cliffhanger, and so viewers have been waiting in tense anticipation for the new series, which will debut on January 1, 2021.

But don’t despair, friends. For season 4, the Netflix sci-fi horror will be returning, ensuring that all those loose ends that you have been losing sleep over will hopefully be smoothed out. Or so we are hoping, anyway.

The release date for Stranger Things season 4 has not yet been announced. Depending on the time of year in Stranger Things itself, Netflix appears to angle its release date around public holidays such as Halloween for season 2, or the 4th of July for season 3.

Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” is a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” the mercurial villain Loki resumes his role as the God of Mischief. Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer.

The show is categorized as a “crime thriller,” and will see Loki challenging the TVA or Time Variance Authority. The show is said to make its debut in May 2021, on Disney+.

The Boys (Season 3)

Season 3 of The Boys is official, and can be called one of the most awaited item. Season 2 of The Boys ended with a cliffhanger that teases a possible villain in season 3  and indicates that for the Amazon Prime Video has some interesting plans for us.

The phenomenal success of season 2 of The Boys, which became the first non-Netflix series to debut on Nielsen’s list of the best streaming shows made a third outing inevitable. We have high hopes with the Season 3 of the show.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier

The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; the head writer is Malcolm Spellman. The show will stream from May 19, 2021 exclusively on Disney+.

The Book of Boba Fett

Then came the title cards: “THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT: Coming December 2021”. Has there ever been a cooler way of verifying a new TV show’s existence?
